Winter and Spring

Winter and Spring

There is Winter, and

there is Spring. 

Winter seeks warmth, fights loneliness.

Remembers the heat that was, and

Longs for the heat to come. 

And Spring is separate

spreads its wings,

forgets Winter

in the chaos and beauty of rebirth.  

Is both the phoenix that rises,

and the first fire that took it all away.
